THE POWER OF 360°: MOTION EXPERIENCES / WS19-20

In Berlin & Paris

INTERNATIONAL OUTSIDER PROJECT (IOP) ︎︎︎

KISD x PARSONS

In the second edition of this adventurous design travel project, 38 students from Parsons NYC and Parsons Paris (plus 1 Ensci Student) meet 8 KISD students in December 2019 for investigating on the power of 360°: Motion Experiences.

Find more details about the trip described below.

This website is to represent the KISD perspective and shows the projects, which the students created afterwards. They were all presented in a little show in the motion experience lab @KISD on friday 24.01.20.

This International Outsider Project (IOP) is an ongoing collaboration between KISD & PARSONS and is initiated as an intercultural design research project "on the go". Curated and accompanied by Prof. Nina Juric, Prof. Laubersheimer and Lisa Janßen (IC KISD) together with Sven Travis, Brad MacDonald and Michie Pagulayan (Parsons).
Supported by MXL teaching assistant Dmitrii Kuznetsov.

10 days the group has spent in Paris and Berlin and got daily prompts and exercises on the power of 360degrees and motion experiences. Each day ending with a little presentations of their investigations. Throughout the journey there was a rich program of shows and visits. i.e. at les atelier des lumières , art+com or a guided tour through the Boros “Bunker” Collection in Berlin.

The “academic tour guides” even managed to drop a day symposium on 360° Motion Experiences, very spontaniously. It took place in the Hüttenpalast Berlin, where everyone was acoomodated in two camping halls, with the artists Evan Roth (Grafitti Research Lab) and Keez Duvyes (Pips:lab) from Amsterdam, ending with a contemporary 360 dance performance and an unexpected tattoo session.
